FOR JUANITO CARDONA (JUAN ESTEBAN CARDONA ACOSTA)

The risk theory explains that in certain environments, the creator always gets the short end of the stick. I learned this the hard way with a global hit: others kept the profit, and I was left with the risk. That collapse was my wake-up call.

At the same time, that experience set me free. Now, it’s time to embrace authenticity and control for those who actually create. My focus, whether working individually or collaboratively, is to protect the author’s legacy.

My journey began in 1999 with Latin American percussion and singing, eventually moving to guitar in 2001 and then fully committing to the recording arts and music production in 2005. Back then, intellectual property was almost a secret, a piece of information that shifts power dynamics. This was even harder to get coming from a time and place where Medellín, Colombia, and the internet was not what it is today. I had to overcome the language barrier, but I was lucky to have the chance to travel to the States and immerse myself into the American culture alongside my Colombian roots. I grew up with the 2000s trends: MTV and TRL at Times Square, MTV Mexico, MTV 2, Virgin Megastore NY, Manny's Music Store in NY, early reality TV, MSN Messenger, MySpace, Napster, Limewire, Sidekick, MacBooks with Intel chips, the iPhone 3G, Abercrombie, blogs, YouTube, Facebook, text messages, Twitter, and Vine. It was the rise of social media culture, followed by the era of followers, million-view counts, and Gangnam Style by Psy. By 2016, basic information about the music industry started to go public from trusted sources, but it wasn't until 2018 that I was finally welcomed by lawyers and specialists into the world of intellectual property and rights management.

Bridging Creative Excellence and Music Business Development

Over two decades later, I bridge the gap between creative excellence and business development. This vision has allowed me to contribute to major global productions, accumulating production credits on 2X Diamond RIAA-certified projects, a music catalog amassing over 3.2 billion streams, and a spot in the YouTube Billion Views Club.

Protecting Intellectual Property & Ensuring Long-Term Sustainability

Whether it is landing a Sync in films or on major television platforms, such as Speed Kills (John Travolta), Qué León (Ozuna), Billboard Awards, The X Factor, The Voice, American Idol, Premio Lo Nuestro, Univision, La Voz Colombia, and La Descarga Reality, I have remained focused on the same goal: operating as a creative investment partner, safeguarding each project's intellectual property, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
